Holy Trinity is a fun and satisfying place for teenagers, too!
As confirmed members of the church, High School students are
accepted as full-fledged, active members of the congregation. They have the
same rights, privileges, and duties of other adult followers of Jesus, including
serving as ushers, reading lessons at worship, assisting at the altar, teaching
Sunday School, and helping out with the many service ministries of the congregation.
The exciting ideas and boundless enthusiasm of youth are important
ingredients in the vibrancy of life in our congregation.
There are lots of opportunities for teenagers to broaden their
impact and develop their leadership skills too. For many years, Holy Trinity
youth have been active participants in district, synodical, and national youth
events. They have served as officers in the
SEPA synod's youth organization and as counselors at
Bear Creek Camp, the wonderful nature camp in the Poconos supported by our synod.
Our youth's missions have taken them to Atlanta, San Antonio, and South Dakota.
We're excited to have one of our high school members, Leanne E., currently
serving as president of the Synod’s
Lutheran Youth Organization!
But it's all not work - there's time for fun, camaraderie, and
personal development too. Our Youth Group gathers frequently with each other
for study, worship, outings to interesting "educational" locations (e.g. amusement
parks), and for other fun activities.
